13/14 August - Cadillac and Buckley

Yesterday we all felt a bit tired after the day on Mackinac Island and stayed for the most of the day at home. We watched a couple of episodes of Columbo and I missed the second half of the second episode. I was only going to 'rest my eyes' but I fell asleep.

After that we went in to the town to have a look around. We went to a couple of antique shops, which was really fun. Allan & Kim gave us a lovely plaque that we will hang in our lounge.

On the way home we spotted a fairly old car and Valerie said that there is a old car show on in Buckley, and both Allan and Grant's eyes lit up. So there is were we are going tomorrow.

In the evening we went to the movies! We watched "The man fom U.N.C.L.E". It was a bit slow in some places but overall it was good. They stayed true to the look and feel of the 70's.

At the end of the movie Kim and Mark had a popcorn fight. Not sure who was the winner.

We are having so much fun with the cousins. It's a laugh almost every second minute. We have taught them some new words like: plonker and guber and it is so fun hearing them say them.

Today we went to the car show (which turned out to be old engines, mostly tractors). It was hot. It was 87 Farenheit which is about 30, and hardly any wind. It did walk around for a while then it was 'get some water and find some shade' There was a parade of all the tractors and I am not kidding when I say that it went on for more than 1 hour. Grant enjoyed it.

We also spotted some Amish people there. It is like going back in time. Fascinating to watch them.

Tomorrow we are traveling to Wisconsin for the final concert at CMI (Central Territory Musical Institute), where we will meet up with Randy & Kathy. And if we are lucky, will have the possibility to say hello to Bill Himes.

This trip is just getting better and better
