19th August - Traverse City

Today we went to Traveres City. It's about 1 hour north of Cadillac. On the way we saw a couple ofinteresting  signs. They are streets here that have a number as the street name, like 13 St. But today we also saw a 12 3/4 St. Hilarious.

Then we saw this sign: "Prison area. Do not pick up hitchhikers". Hmm, that is a bit scary. Does that mean that the prison is not secure??

After having lunch at the Green House Cafe (had a very yummy sandwish) we went to a place called "Hands on Art". There you can pick items like plates, mugs etc, paint them them and they wiill glaze the item and burnit  in a furnace. What a great idea. We did a small square each that Valerie will keep with the ones she, Mark and Anna-Karin did for their family (as a memory of us).

Oh and I saw another US Postal van and the Post office in Cadillac. The building is impressive.

We had to planned to go to a arts museum but we ran out of time. So we went for icecream instead. Good choice! We went to a place called 'Moomers. Just a little tase of country'. I had soft serve with Nestle Crunch and Grant had soft serve with M&M's. Kim had frozen pumpkin youghurt. I had a taste of it and really did taste like pumpkin. Interesting experience since I have only had pumpkin rosted or as a soup.

Another great day with the cuzzies. Unfortunately there is now only a few days left before we start the trip back home. We have enjoyed every minute of our time here and we will cherish every memory. Lucky we have a lot of photos to remember everything. So far I have taken 997!!!
